Exploring Water Dynamics in Three Cities: BioBío, Guadalajara, and Beer-Sheva to generate innovative solutions in face of climate change.
Water is a vital resource that shapes the development and sustainability of cities around the world. This workshop, "Water in 3 Cities," focuses on the evolution and unique water challenges of three diverse cities: Bío Bío (Chile), Guadalajara (Mexico), and Beer Sheva (Israel).
Through an engaging and interactive approach, attendees will collaboratively construct a timeline chart that captures the evolution of water-related events for each one of the cities. For this, the participants will identify the challenges that the cities have faced, the decisions made to solve these challenges, and how these decisions (and perhaps other factors) have contributed to build the situation and problems that the city is currently facing. Finally, we will use this timeline overview to formulate innovative and comprehensive solutions that could help to remediate current challenges.
At the end of this workshop, attendees will have a sound understanding of the water dynamics in the three cities, and the potential pathways to follow, which they can later apply to generate creative solutions regarding water challenges in their own cities.

Workshop 1
Localizing digital responses to the global climate crisis: Carbon footprint application in Hamburg, Taipei, Shanghai
Workshop 2
Can we scale digital responses to the climate crisis to global solutions, or do we need to localize them? What does it mean for digital solutions that different places will be affected in different ways? In this workshop, we will explore this question on the example of the Carbon Footprint Tool Applications throughout Taipei, Hamburg, and Shanghai.

Cultivating Generative Collective Intelligence: Mapping common challenges in the City Science Network to foster future collaboration
Workshop 3
As cities and urban communities we face many challenges that need to be tackled: climate change, mobility, housing, resources scarcity, and societal cohesion for example. Some of these challenges are quite different because of our City Science Network cultural diversity and locations across the globe, but some of them are quite similar. What if we work together to find common challenges to foster future collaboration?
In this workshop, we will engage in several group dynamics to find these common challenges as members of the City Science Network, to collectively generate solutions that can deliver real value to our communities and to expand the strength of these bonds of collaboration.
